Review subtitle text and timing side by side
The translated text changes. Cue numbers and timestamps do not. Use the preview to check tone, names, and line breaks before buying the full file.

What the workflow protects
Keep the subtitle file usable
Timestamps stay in place
Subtitle timing is kept separate from the text sent for translation, so you do not have to rebuild the timeline.
Subtitle structure is retained
Cue order, identifiers, and the original output format remain part of the translated file.
Formatting-aware translation
Inline tags and format-specific syntax are protected while the spoken text is translated.

Frequently asked questions
Is subtitle translation free?
You can upload a file and inspect a translated preview for free. Payment is only required when you decide to download the complete translated file.
Will my timestamps change?
No. Doc2Lang translates subtitle text while retaining the file's existing cue timing and sequence.
Which subtitle formats can I upload?
This page accepts SRT, WebVTT/VTT, ASS, and SSA subtitle files. Use the dedicated format pages when you need format-specific guidance.
What is the maximum subtitle file size?
Subtitle files can be up to 50MB. That is enough for even very long subtitle tracks because subtitle files contain text rather than video.
Can I keep names and technical terms consistent?
Yes. Add glossary terms before translation to guide character names, product names, and recurring terminology.
Can I translate a video that has no subtitle file?
Yes, but that is a different workflow. Use video translation to transcribe the audio first, then generate and translate subtitles.
How long are my subtitle files stored?
You can delete files yourself at any time. Files left in Doc2Lang are automatically deleted after 14 days.
