Translate Image Files Online

Break language barriers in screenshots, infographics, menus, and more. Our AI detects text in your images, translates it, and lets you download the result in seconds—no account required.

Supported Image Formats

We accept today's most common web and photography formats. Just upload—our OCR does the rest.

JPG / JPEG – Camera & Smartphone Photos

Perfect for photos or screenshots captured on phones, DSLRs, or compact cameras. Our OCR handles compression artefacts and lighting variations common in JPGs.

PNG – Lossless Graphics & UI Mock-ups

Ideal for UI designs, infographics, diagrams, or any image with sharp text on transparent or solid backgrounds. PNG's lossless nature delivers crisp OCR results.

GIF – Static or Animated Banners

Whether it's a static banner ad or the first frame of an animated GIF, we extract and translate embedded text while preserving original frame order.

WebP – Modern Web-Optimised Images

Google's WebP keeps files small without losing clarity. We support both lossy and lossless WebP variants for speedy uploads and accurate translation.

Best Practices for Crisp Results

Follow these tips to get the best results from your image translations

Use High-Resolution Images
Blurry photos reduce OCR accuracy—aim for clear smartphone shots or 300 DPI scans.
Ensure Good Contrast
Dark text on light backgrounds (or vice versa) improves detection accuracy.
Avoid Decorative Fonts
Ornate scripts can confuse OCR. When possible, stick to legible typefaces.
Batch Small Images
Combine small icons or label snippets into one image to save time and cost.

FAQ

Image Translation FAQ

What image formats are supported?

jpg, jpeg, png, gif, and webp.

Can you translate handwritten text?

Light, clear handwriting may work, but printed text yields the best accuracy.

Do you overwrite the original image?

No. We generate a separate overlay or text file; your source file remains unchanged.

Is my image used to train AI models?

Absolutely not. Images are processed in real time via the OpenAI API and are never stored for training.

Are there any types of images that don't work well?

Yes, the AI has some limitations. It is not suitable for medical images like CT scans and may struggle with panoramic, fisheye, or rotated images. For best results, use clear, standard-format pictures.

How accurate is the text recognition on complex images?

The model performs best with clear, printed text. It may have difficulty with very small text, non-Latin scripts (like Japanese or Korean), or complex visuals like graphs with styled lines. Accuracy can also be lower for tasks requiring precise spatial awareness, such as identifying chess positions.

What are the other limitations of the AI?

The AI focuses on translating visible text and does not process image metadata or original filenames. It may also provide approximate counts of objects and can sometimes generate incorrect descriptions. For safety reasons, CAPTCHAs are blocked and cannot be processed.
