Why Choose Our ASS Translation Service

Style-Template Preservation

All \Style, \Fontname, \Border, \Shadow, \Pos, \Move, and \Fade tags stay exactly as they are—only the dialogue text is replaced, so your typesetting remains intact.

Karaoke-Timing Integrity

Accurately detects and keeps \k, \K, \kf, \ko tempo markers, so frame-by-frame karaoke timing survives translation.

Layer & Z-Order Aware

Multiple subtitle layers (Layer 0-9) keep their original stacking order, preventing overlap or mistimed rendering.

Smart Font Fallback

Identifies the character set required by the target language and suggests compatible fonts automatically—no more tofu squares or garbled glyphs.

Batch Style Injection

Select several .ass files at once and apply a single Style Template in one run, cutting repetitive manual work.

Who Uses ASS Translation?

Anime & Fansub Groups

Keep complex karaoke, rolling lyrics, and mask paths intact for BD-Rip or fan-sub releases in multiple languages.

Lyric & MV Producers

Music videos with colorful jumping lyrics stay perfectly synced after translation for worldwide distribution.

e-Sports Live Streams

Custom chat overlays, team colors, and edge-screen notices translate seamlessly and inject live into OBS.

Corporate Motion Graphics

Dynamic text effects in promos drop straight into FFmpeg or Aegisub once translated.

Best Practices for Clean ASS Translation

Keep Single-Sentence Lines

ASS has no hard character limit, but very long lines can break layout—insert \N line breaks before translation if needed.

Deduplicate Style Names

If duplicate style names exist, translated lines may reference the wrong style—clean them up first.

Use Unicode-Ready Fonts

Ensure your Style’s Fontname supports the target language, or enable “Auto Font Replacement” on upload.

Preview on a Real Player

After download, play the file in mpv, VLC, or PotPlayer to verify key-frame sync and overlays.

ASS Subtitle Translation FAQ

Will karaoke timing shift after translation?

No. We replace only the text after \k tags—timing values stay intact. If sentences become too long or short, fine-tune in Aegisub.

Can I convert the translated ASS to SRT/VTT within Doc2Lang?

Currently we output .ass only. Use Aegisub, Subtitle Edit, or another third-party tool for SRT or VTT conversion.

Do you process \ruby or \ibu tags?

Yes. Ruby/furigana parent-child layers are preserved. If the target language doesn’t need phonetic guides, you can choose to strip them.

Maximum file size or line count?

Up to 30 MB or 200 k lines per file. Split episodes or batches for larger scripts.

What about private styles inside comments?

Comment lines aren’t translated by default. Enable “Translate Comments” in Advanced Options if you want them processed.
